Our Story

With over 25 years of jousting experience and even more with horse performance, professional stuntman Dan Foss re-branded the show as Equus Nobilis in late 2018. We offer action packed theatrical jousting shows including horse skills and ground combat. A dynamic group of both horses and riders display our talents and provide the most entertaining and audience engaging experience possible. Currently these shows can be seen at both the St. Louis and Kansas City Renaissance Festivals. The show themes build throughout the day beginning with a pleasure joust, and ending with a joust of war. While the show plots do build, each can be done as a standalone show.

Skills featured in our shows can be split in to two main categories: horse skills and stage combat skills. Some of the horse skills include joust passes with and without a list, saddle falls, horse to horse combat, ring joust, and others. The stage combat skills include fights with a variety of weapons including swords, ax, flail, shield, and others.
